Society of Ploughmen
The Society of Ploughmen is a registered charity, run by volunteers from the farming community, and organises the annual British National Ploughing Championships in a different part of the country each year.
It’s not just ploughing though! There will be an extensive trade stand area with stands from a varied range of agri-businesses and working demonstrations of new machinery by manufacturers and dealers.
For the family it offers a rare glimpse of how farming has changed over the past 300 years – magnificent heavy horses, giant steam engines and lots of vintage tractors and equipment. With shopping stalls and country crafts, it’s a great day out for all the family.
The 2020 Championships will be held at Mindrum, Northumberland on 10th and 11th October and in 2021 they will be held in North East Derbyshire.
