At Kelp Blue, we cultivate Giant Kelp (Macrocystis pyrifera) to help growers reduce their carbon footprint while improving soil health and crop productivity. Our seaweed-based biostimulant, StimBlue+, is a liquid seaweed extract that enhances plant resilience, improves nutrient uptake, and lowers the need for synthetic fertilizers.
A recent trial with an independent research organisation shows that StimBlue+ reduces the need for nitrogen fertiliser by enhancing the plant’s ability to absorb and utilise nutrients more efficiently. Our trials demonstrate that cereal yields are maintained with a 15% reduction in fertiliser.
While higher cereal yields boost financial returns, the greatest impact comes from lowering fixed costs. Farmers using StimBlue+ can cut nitrogen fertilizer by up to 15% without sacrificing yield. This results in savings of £75 per hectare, with a cost of just £20 per hectare—using 2 liters of StimBlue+ at £10 per litre.
Do you want to discuss how StimBlue+ can increase your output? Pop by at our booth (#702). To book a meeting with us, please send an email to our UK Agronomist, Casper Velthuijs (casper.velthuijs@kelp.blue).
